Some Recent Events

We held one of our periodic “Technical Sessions” at the well-equipped garage of one of our members.  Club members were invited to attend.

At this session, the universal joints of a club member’s Corvair Corsa were replaced. With the pre-ordering of replacement parts, knowledgeable mechanics, and a lot of elbow grease, the job was completed in a day.

When visitors to the Maryland Auto Show – held annually at the Baltimore Convention Center – need a break from the razzle-dazzle of all the new vehicle offerings, they stop by and feast their eyes on vehicles of a simpler time – displayed by our members of the Chesapeake Region, AACA.

Our big annual Collector Car Swap Meet – held at the Howard County Fairgrounds – always draws a hearty crowd of buyers and sellers of everything automotive.  Here’s where the bargains can be found.

Baltimore loves parades!  And our members participate with a variety of collector vehicles.  Photos above from the recent Saint Patrick Parade.

A Visit to the World War II American Experience Museum

One of our members is a docent at the World War II American Experience Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. We recently toured the museum, with Jack as our guide, for a very informative talk.  The museum is worthy of a visit to see some very unique artifacts, and to learn much about the significant involvement of the United States military and civilians in the winning effort.

A Visit to the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, PA

Eye-candy for the automobile enthusiast.

A group of Chesapeake Region club members took yet another visit to this fabulous indoor display of automobiles, trucks and mechanized equipment.  It’s always a new and enjoyable experience. And the best thing:  for the right price, any one of them could be yours!  Listed prices may seem out of your price range, but most are negotiable!  Pick your favorite and make an offer.

Chesapeake Region Cruise-In at the 2023 AACA Eastern Spring Nationals

Our Chesapeake Region hosted a Cruise-In at the 2023 AACA Eastern Spring Nationals held at the Wyndham Hotel in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  Good weather, good DJ music, tasty food truck food and a great variety of collector vehicles made for a very enjoyable event.

Chesapeake Management Day at the monthly Harford Winery Cruise-In

Chesapeake Region enjoyed an opportunity to be the August host of the monthly Cruise-In at the Harford Winery & Vineyards in Forrest Hill, Maryland. With ideal weather and a large attendance, it was a great success. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet many fellow collector car enthusiasts of the area, and to help with fund raising for the Custom & Classic Car Education Foundation.

Participation in the Opening of the Reconstructed Phoenix Road Bridge.

With our antique vehicles, we participated in the reopening ceremonies of the new Phoenix Road Bridge reconstructed over the Big Gunpowder Falls in Phoenix, Maryland. This Loch Raven watershed project was a cooperative venture of both Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Officials of both jurisdictions were on hand for the historic occasion.
